Some paw prints are indelible.
Over the past decade, we spent every beach trip, family day, and weekend getaway with our Yorkshire Terrier, Winnie. On foot or by vehicle, RV or boat, it didn’t matter. We never went anywhere without her because she was one of us. She was family.

It never occurred to us to not bring her along; a sentiment she wholeheartedly shared. And she was never just along for the ride. Winnie was always at the very heart of every adventure.
That was the unspoken promise from the very beginning, and it never changed.
Even when carrying all of her gear felt like a full-body workout, Mike would haul her tent, food, toys, and everything else across scorching hot sand under the summer sun, fueled by love and the simple desire for her to enjoy the beach as much as we did. We always made sure she had shade, fresh water, and a comfortable place beside us where she felt safe and loved.
Our love for Winnie became the driving force behind e-Beach Wagon. Every grueling 200-yard trek through the sand to Higbee Beach, our favorite dog-friendly beach in Cape May, New Jersey, reminded us there had to be an easier way to bring everything — and everyone — we loved to the beach.
As it turned out, there was.
As any pet parent knows, there's a secret language shared between a dog and their family. It lives in the glance before a walk, the familiar place beside your feet, and the sound of little paws skittering across the floor. Without saying a word, you learn to recognize every emotion, memorize their favorite treats, laugh at their quirks, and understand the extraordinary gift of being chosen by an animal who loves you unconditionally.
Our bond with Winnie was extraordinary. There wasn't a single thing we wouldn't have done to fill her life with happiness. We know she felt how deeply she was loved—not only during the beautiful days, but through every challenge we faced together. As the years passed and her medical needs grew, our bond only became stronger. That love was still there in our final moments with her, quietly carrying us through the hardest goodbye we've ever had to say.
Love is an incredible force.
It has the power to inspire, to persevere, and sometimes, to invent.
Looking back, it's easy to see just how much Winnie taught us. She reminded us to slow down, notice the little things, and treasure every ordinary day because those ordinary days eventually become life's greatest memories. Even as caring for her required more of us, it never felt like a burden. It was one of the greatest privileges of our lives.
While Winnie inspired e-Beach Wagon, she was never just part of our story.
She was the beginning of it.
She showed us that caring deeply for someone means removing the obstacles that stand between them and the experiences they love. That lesson became the foundation of everything we built.

Today, e-Beach Wagon is about so much more than hauling gear. It's about making the beach easier to enjoy. It's about giving families more time together, helping grandparents create memories with their grandchildren, supporting those with mobility challenges, and removing barriers that keep people from experiencing the places they love.
That mission began with one little Yorkshire Terrier who loved the beach.
Winnie taught us that true devotion isn't found in grand gestures. It's found in the smallest acts of love, repeated every single day. More than anything, she left us with gratitude—gratitude for every adventure, every wagging tail, every sandy paw print, and every moment we were lucky enough to share with her.
Everything we've built began with that love, and everything we build in the future will always carry a piece of her.
Because long before there was an e-Beach Wagon, there was a little dog whose favorite place in the world was the beach.
Thank you for everything, Winnie.
Rest easy, sweet girl.
We will love you forever. ❤️
